Cunning old Grandma! I haven't heard of a chicken neck being a gourmand's delight in Australia, but the wishbone was what the Australian devourers wanted! Chicken was only served at Christmas time, and now the wish bone has lost its spell. Great work Marilyn. Have a wish on me for your delightful, humorous piece of nostalgia.! 10 Karin Anderson.

A delightful poem, my friend. I stumbled across it because I was looking for my own poem called 'Chicken Necks'. Quite a coincidence that both poems involve older ladies, your grandmother and my step-mother, who lived to be in her nineties. I guess chicken necks must be good for you!
