Neuroscience and I
I have been reading on the subject since it came into vogue.
Attended 2 talks of Norman Doidge in Melb (he's also a poet) several years ago.
The brain and thinking can be changed....
yes, but to what extent?
Chinese saying: It's easier to change the course of rivers and mountains than human nature.
Though it's a poetic expression, I think it's true.
I can change, adapt, open my mind to new ideas/habits but when it comes to my inner core being, I am what nature has endowed me with and I can't bend further. It's not pride or obstinacy ----I am just me!
Neuroscience has great merits but it's still a new science---it has not come to its own yet.
