Never An Poem by Francis Duggan

Never An

They are not an asset to humanity
The people who are lacking in empathy
Superior in their minds to the financially down
Those doing it tough on the poor side of the town
They pride themselves in their grand homes and new car
And like to tell their aspirational friends of how marvelous they are
At their social gatherings in the posh restaurant on high street
With their wealthy friends for attention they do compete
They never would think of helping those of helping in need
And sadly their sort nowadays not a rare breed
The look at me syndrome alive and well today
So many who aspire to be successful on a material way
But they are never an asset to humanity
The people who are known to be lacking in empathy.
