Never Believe Me Poem by Gayatri Tandon

Never Believe Me

I am speaking the truth,
but nothing can be heard.
Hiding myself from me,
Whispering nothings.

I can hear the sounds,
Like the rustling of leaves.
Hear me Hear me out,
Please hear me I plead.

I can not hear the truth,
I can not listen to you.
I do not want to hear,
Because of my fear.

I cannot hear myself,
Not now not Now!
There is too much at stake,
Too much, too true.

Please hear me out,
I will not bother you
Not again just once,
No! Never! liar!

I'd rather believe the lie,
then believe this truth.
I'd rather die the breath,
this truth aloud.

Some things Die for the truth,
Some truth die for life.
Sometimes I hear myself
Sometimes I quieten me.

Believe me I would,
But I am not listening.
Not to this Truth,
Not now Not ever.
