Never Celebrate Too Early. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Never Celebrate Too Early.

A little chick, a little egg,
Don't count them till they stand on their legs.
Life teaches us, as years go by,
To wait and watch, not to be sly.

When you grow big, and stand up tall,
And handle life, through rise and fall,
You learn to breathe, and take it slow,
Don't shout 'I won! ' before you know.

No cheering loud, no joyful leap,
Until the promise you can keep.
This simple truth, so clear and bright,
It is one of life's most guiding lights.
