Never Have I Ever Poem by Simon Matar

Never Have I Ever

Rating: 5.0

Never Have I ever, is not just a game!
Where you sound clever, alcohol to blame
Truth like never, stories no longer the same
But here comes the confession, all by the name

Never Have I ever, visioned that aim
To settle with my lover, in life burning flame
Under the same cover, all the happiness claim
Share every moment and not just the surname

Never Have I ever, thought I'd be that close
To walk on that aisle between the beds of rose
Reaching out in firm steps to that heavenly stone
And say that magical word in a confident tone

Never Have I ever, imagined it to disappear
In just few seconds, just like a stormy winds veer
For it to become blurry, after it was so clear
Left in nowhere, lost between the there and here

Never Have I ever, been struck by a crossbow
Got myself shot, with a hateful sinful arrow
Seeing not myself, but only the shadow
Of a standing man, bleeding of sorrow

Never Have I ever, lived similar moments
Where lovers changed into death thirsty tyrants
Selfish with the pride of rude hating parents
Mislead by the words of lowest level friends

Never Have I ever, again I say Never
Imagined to say those words, so damn clever
That's definitely the best win for me ever
For after this, Off without you, is better

Never Have I ever, thought I'd rise up so fast
An empowered confidence, a charisma that last
To look back with a smile on that ugly past
Seeing a new hope, through other eyes, so vast

Thank you Family, friends and strangers
and even those silly small minded haters
For I have been so happy smiling at you back
While I see the fire burning you with lots of regret
