Never Let Death Pass Between Us Poem by Arun Maji

don't sit far
don't sit far ever.
sit close by my side-
your arms on my shoulder
warmth on my blood
softness on my soul
heartbeat on my heart.

not close enough yet!
sit bit closer,
sit far more closer.
so that
you inhale air, my lungs fill
your heart beats, I am perfused
you open eyes, I see rainbow
you bite lips, I feel pain.

still not close enough!
lock your bosom on my breasts
lock your lips on my lips
lock your hands on my waist.
now hold them tight-
really tight, far more tight.

in gap between us
nothing should pass-
neither time, nor space
neither air, nor fire.

gap that allows air
can allow death too.
if you live,
I don't wanna die.
if you die
I don't wanna live.

sit closer.
never let air or death
pass between us.
