Never Out Grow Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Never Out Grow

Congrats all lucky-friends, happy father's day!
For celebrating father-hood, paternal bonds
Honouring the influence in human-society
Father, only a person who listens with serenity
Each time suggests, defends, cares and shares.

I was too among the lucky, to have him with
Once upon a time, on 5th May 1981 last time
When he left, all of us alone at the age of 84
Today, after more than 37 years, it seems
I'm nurturing, some grief and past-memories.

Nostalgic, those dreams I used to dream with
Dilapidated mud-house buildings as left-over
Broken wooden-fencing around the fields-
But, no where appear to be seen those cows
Sheep, buffaloes, bulls and all pet animals.

Nothing, except for re-calling his memories
Sight of the sites, where he stood cremated
Reminds: individuality and dignity of labour
The feelings I rear, even today in my heart
Heart, mind and soul, I can never out grow.
