Never To Fall Poem by Alexandra Estes

Never To Fall

I swore to never do it again;
To walk upon ice so thin.
To find this hope within my heart
And watch my soul fall apart.

How can one be so naive
To have the hope to believe
In love finding me?
But that chance will never be.

For I am born to be alone'
My heart from birth set in cold stone.
A life to live without love;
A curse given from above.

Now I will never let myself fall;
Not again, a priority above all.
To guard a heart shattered;
No longer to be broken and battered.
