New Day - Poem by Sahra Hussein

I remember when I felt lost
When I couldn't think
And every thing seemed to cost
Because all my consciousness sank
And I can't fly
I try to talk
Instead I cry
Because it seems impossible to walk

All teachers seemed same
Because they were white
And they have a difficult name
Their faces seemed they fight
After they walked under the sun
While they were having fun

The teacher said red
I said I read
He said take a look
And I said book!
I couldn't find
Another word in my mind
He said long word
And I said o my lord
What was that? ! !
Ok then I tried and said
I ran rain ray fall.
They all laughed hard
Then I stood up straight
And said it is not too late
Because I am still learning
the world around me
And there is a fate to see
And more to ride
Because life so brief but so wide

But be care full!
Because they make you look foolish
They may laugh at you and
Make you look foolish again
But who cares?
Because the world is not theirs
They say someone who gives advice is
Someone who cares about you
Watch out! ! !
The pain and gloomy night
That just needs your bravery to be bright
