New Year Bargains. Poem by Michael Cochrane

New Year Bargains.

Under a blanket a young pale man shivers in a winter on Glasgow's Ingram street. People go pass him heads down looking at their mobile phones oblivious to his plight. Many hurry past clutching new year sale bargains ignored and cold he is alone in a city which has lost compassion and social care for the poor.
