New Year Of Hope Poem by Tom Zakem

New Year Of Hope

New year of hope
By
T. S. Zakem

Still waiting on the launching pad, seems I never win
Always on the launching pad, holding at T minus ten
I have been waiting all my life you see, waiting just to fly
If I linger any longer, I will surely die
The old year is quickly coming to an end
With childish aspiration,a new one will begin
A reunion of old friends, is a healing you just can't buy
And with their inspiration, I can surely fly
Lunching into the atmosphere I take off like a jet
Finally, breaking through the celestial parapet
Satisfied, now that I did not sit and mope
Anytime you can see me soar, just look through your telescope
