New Year's Eve In Warrnambool Poem by Francis Duggan

New Year's Eve In Warrnambool

New Year's Eve and the weather is breezy and cool
In the coastal City of old Warrnambool
Around 7 pm and lots of festive cheer
People feeling merry on wine, spirits and beer
A farewell to the year of two thousand and seventeen
And hopes for the future of better days to be seen
The clock ticking on another year all but dead
And hopes for the future of better days ahead
In the Warrnambool pubs there is music, laughter, Joy and song
Towards the birth of a new year time ticking along
The revellers farewell the old year in beer, spirits and wine
And will welcome twenty eighteen singing Auld Lang Syne
The happy sound of people celebrating so pleasant to hear
As they party to welcome another New Year.
