New Years Poem by Cee Bea

Right now the snow is falling
and it will soon be very deep
as I wish upon another year
into which I'll take a leap

To make true to life my wishes
and be strong when I feel weak
also know that I can justify
the promises I keep

me, I wish for better
for all upon this land
that no one will know hunger
now would that not be grand?

To never hear of terror
or see a mother cry
for a child she lost in war
or who had to take a life

to give health care for all
that wont have such high costs
for there are way to many
making money from the lost

Id also like our children
to be wise as well as smart
for that will be a victory
(well at least a victorious start)

I want to trust our leaders
and know Im justified
To feel like what they tell me,
is not just another lie

Well…those are my few wishes
not real grand or far away
I'll remember them and hope for
them every single day.
