Newsflash Poem by Jim Boone

Newsflash

The old man is dying
At age 94 and everything
Is being done, prayers going out
For his recovery. LET HIM GO!

A famous and beloved TV chef
Is being sued by one of her
X-restaurant managers for using
The ‘N’ word because this woman
Believes she has a good chance of
Getting millions from her X-boss.
The ‘Food Network’ has fired her
(Why so frekin’ soon?) and the
Media is abuzz about her being a ‘racist’.
HORSE HOCKEY! Throw out the
Lawsuit and let the chef make us smile
Again while cookin her southern recipes.

Way, way, way back, people did change
Our world in significant and profound ways.
Not so much now-a-days. What we must
Do now is work to change ourselves so
We can’t be led and so it doesn’t matter
What ‘they’ say, or do, or don’t do.

We need to lock down, shut out, shut up
And reincarnate into our thinking the
Actions and ideals that turn everything
Into a ‘to the good of all concerned’ NOW-time.
