Night Poem by Godfrey Torrance

Night

Darkness covers the sky
Caressing the stars with an ever prominent blackness
Trees whistling in the soft breeze, singing songs of pureness.

A sleeping bag, lain out upon the grass,
filled with bodies brought together by a divine force
Chance it couldn’t have been
Part of a plan it must be.

Eyes that sparkle, lighting the night with a sweet soft disposition of a cool pond on a hot summer day.
Lips so soft, like the feeling of a throw upon the back of an restless figure.

Time standing still, refusing to move, not wanting to give Up the moment.
A moment so sweet, lifting the curse of loneliness that engulfed it for so long.

A feeling almost forgotten, brought back by the touch on skin possessing an alluring disposition.

Extremity follows, an anguishing end.
Time moves on
Feelings walk along an endless path
To each an opposite direction.
