I have lost something dignified
I can just find this fact out
from the slight delight
all that's left of it at night
I can forget baleful glare
as clear sky combs its hair
its starlit eyes stare with no scare
its face flares elating moonlit everywhere
I can hear the pleasant song of presence
as cricket tunes its instrument at silence
bowing to accompany the noble darkness
singing the song of loneliness
I have lost something dignified
little by little under daylight
but I can get its smell at night
even if it is mite running out
