Night I Lost Faith... Poem by Edward Veilleux

Night I Lost Faith...

It was a night the same as most, like any other.
When several decided to call on their brother.
For all the times he offered his ear,
Through the months and through each year,
This was a night he tried his best,
He listened to their pains of the opposite sex.
Three break ups within a week, what a shame.
Obviously, not a single one came without pain.

One was an answer to the other's heaven.
And one was a roommate, recently moved in.
And third, over two years together they've been.
Sad really, how these things must come to an end.

I've really lost my faith tonight, if any I had.
Watching my brothers who've been made so sad.
The thought of angels departed from my mind.
No angels, no heaven, harsh reality is all I find.
