Night Note 27 - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Sitting here trying to
occupy my tired mind and
thinking about you all the while.
I long to have you here in my arms
curled up in bed your head
resting upon my chest,
you listening to my heart beat.
Knowing it beats just for
you and is singing the
greatest love songs in the universe.
I ache so badly to
just have you in my arms as we drift off.
I wish you could feel just
what I feel inside because I
want and need to share with you
everything I hold and do not hide
but can't adequately express and describe.
Sitting here in bed and wishing
you were here by my side to
just lay next to and hear you breathe.
Know you're here forevermore and never leaving,
feeling pride in my beautiful lady.
You are the Angel for whom I'm waiting.
I'll be here dreaming until you return,
with an open heart and open arms
I'll meet you with tears of joy
down my face streaming.
I won't be able to say a word,
because I'll be to overcome with
a flood of emotions tying my tongue.
When I can though I'll say I love you
sweet lady Kira of my dreams,
I've missed you so much but now
you're here and my heart sings.
