Night On The Brain Poem by Dizzy Darling

Night On The Brain

the seashore shone through the looking glass spires,
all its parasols blew cartwheels in vaulting flight
The ship lay in the harbor yard
moaning under the bursting imperils,
as fire gets restless under pen and bard
emitting bright plumes and fiery carols
ashes like dying dancers crashing down
while scouring drunks reach to the sky
and crown king of night at the edge of an impotent town.

there is orchestral procession
with trombone, trumpet, tuba, and drum
Bohemian chants take possession
while chattering teeth join in some
we move we sway in the evenings chore
with crashing cymbals make moves towards the door
into the night then take our flight
our hands engaged with broken plight

the music is burning the tips of our ears
the alleys are echoing with droplets and cheers
is something happening with our blood?
tonight in mass before the flood
devils surround us in shadow and play
games with our morals in-which they
morph into gold, pleasure, and pearl
and enough maidens to suit an earl.
