Night Ride Poem by Olga Horpe

Night Ride

Rating: 5.0

O hands of time please rest awhile and leave me to my sleep,
To lie within this emptiness to sink into the deep.
O hands of time please wait until I’ve had my chance to dream
To float into infinity before you show your beam.
O darkness that surrounds me, enfold me through the night
And let me lose myself in you until the morning light,
O dreams that bring confusion of happiness and grief
Release me from this torment and bring me sweet relief.
O shadows all around me that change from black to grey
Is this the coming of the dawn? Into another day.
O hands of time I thank thee for bringing me your light
You woke me from my darkest hour, released me from the night.
