Nightmare Poem by Binoy Barman

Nightmare

I ascended to Heaven and God vacated His chair for me
I occupied the place of the supreme ruler, omniscient, omnipotent
I ordered the universe to reverse its motion
Immediately it ceased to expand and started to shrink
I ordered the galaxies to stop swirling and they became still
I transformed matter into anti-matter and anti-matter into matter
No matter, it was a child’s play
I opened the black box in which all divine secrets were kept
I found there the fate of God written in His own hand
He was accused of creating an imperfect world and hanged
I threw His body into a mammoth black hole for eternal rest
My mission in Heaven finished now
I came back to Earth and issued other orders, so
Rivers stopped flowing and the wind stopped blowing
Birds stopped singing and the church bell stopped ringing
Flowers stopped blooming with all curses looming
I turned the blazing sun into a ball of arctic ice, nice
I snatched the treasure of the moon and made it an ugly witch
At that moment my finger fell on an electric switch
All quantum states did the neurons transcend
The room was flooded with light
And my fight with God came to an end.
