Night Poem by Binoy Barman

Night

The moon blazes like the sun and
Butterflies are crazy in the lap of flowers
Can you remember the beckon of her hand?
Heart a desert full of thirsty showers.

Rustling leaves play with dream
A bunch of shadow in her palm
The big snake of river flow upstream
Waves of youth sing cool and calm.

Fairies descend on earth from far star
A grasshopper shakes in the bush
When the hungry owl swoops on her
The food chain bursts in hideous hush.

Death lurks in the gloom of her chin
Against fear all my courage fights
Vehicles collide head-on with passengers in
As white-bearded fog blinds head lights.

Night is for park
Night for bright dark
Night is for kiss
Night is for eternal bliss.

Full of mist, mystery and might
I discover myself
As all silence wakes up at night.
