Nightmares Become Reality Poem by Kristy Laking

Nightmares Become Reality

Dreams are just silly fantasies
That helps us keep our faith in the world
Give us something pleasant to think about
They are anything but real
Except when
Nightmares become reality

The shrill cry of the desperate night
Painstaking silence of the dark
Graceful dancing of the shadows
Nothing will ever seem sane
Except when
Nightmares become reality

Wishes that cant come true
Prayers that seem to fall on deaf ears
Pleas for a different existence
It will never seem true
Except when
Nightmares become reality

The burning images that flash in my mind
Loud torturing cries that ring in my ears
The bittersweet taste of my fear
It never wants to end
Except when
Nightmares become reality

These silent words that I speak
Crimson red tears that I cry
My remedy to numb the constant pain
It can never seem possible
Except when
Nightmares become reality

Great flow of the words. The title a horrid thought, but a great title in its self. Greatful dancing of the shadows, great line Patricia
