Nights I Couldn't Sleep Poem by Mohammad Younus

Nights I Couldn't Sleep

Nights I couldn't sleep,
My Love sings to me,
About my days in the Heaven,
When God wanted me,
To be His caliph on earth,
And promised me to be,
Flown back into the Heaven.

Ever since, I'm aspiring,
To climbing up to the Heaven,
Where I lived before,
To see the eternal garden,
Where singing birds fly, and,
Hymn the divine melody.

When I realise this reality that,
I can't reach the Heaven,
I fly down to earth, praying,
To the Great God, showing up,
In His boundlless manifestation.

Sometimes I think,
Why I need to go to the Heaven?
When he is very much manifest,
In His splendid creation here.

I am a wingless man,
How can I fly to the Heaven?
Let me be here and hear,
His Song of Love on earth.

Why should I crave for second life,
To hear the Song of Love, and,
To see my Lord's face,
In the otherworld?
Cause the Divine music is the same,
The Divine beauty is the same,
In this world and the otherworld.
