No Apologies Poem by Rachel L. Z.

No Apologies

I worked so hard,
Trying to make everything work out
But you didn't like my plan.
Why did you fight so long
To tear it all apart?

No apologies;
I did what I did, we can't go back
You had other ideas, what's wrong with that?
I made up my mind, you made up your's
Now all that's left are the ashes.

You apologized, then you took it back,
And wanted one from me.
What did I even do, except for stick to my guns
From the very beginning.
Your attacks made me cry, knocked me down,
Shook me to the core
You took the knife out of my back,
Just to plunge it into my heart.

No apologies;
I did what I did, we can't go back
You had other ideas, what's wrong with that?
I made up my mind, you made up your's
Now all that's left are the ashes.

You can whisper behind your hand
If it makes you feel better at night
But don't try to tell me you're the one
Who got hurt!

No apologies;
I did what I did, we can't go back
You had other ideas, what's wrong with that?
I made up my mind, you made up your's
Now all that's left are the ashes.
