No Changing Poem by becky darkenai

No Changing

Was i wrong to make the first move?
Was the silence too golden to break?
Several years have worked their magic-
all i have is absent hantings
from the picture you helped make.

i hurt you so you, so you hurt me
i guess that now we're even.

the pictures shredded on the floor
but i cant bear to move it

i built the bridge,
you knocked it down.

people like us never change.
