No Deceit Poem by Kctony Xtopher Nkwocha

No Deceit

Love in my twenties
Oh! So sweet like honies
Grin grn grin…
Her phone rings
Up she picks…
changes ensued, starting from…
From what? Oh, all things
The voice is prepared
Garnished like oysters with green peas
So sonorous, low tuned only for him
She talks in way her friend comments thus:
“so that she will not kwuhie”.
Kwuhie? Yes, make no mistakes
Oh! Network, why sleep?
Wakie, wakie, back to reality
She was overly overwhelmed.
Her friend reminds her…
You said you will have his calls rejected.
She objects amidst laughter.
That call made her stay in my crib
Lively, enjoyable and honeyable
For her, I say thanks to Honie
