No Entry



No entry

An invisible sign declared:
-"No entry! "

It was for the mirrors so
-no one knew of his
-or her own look

Faces were miserable
-as were the heads
-and the hands
-and fingers
-and legs

Unwritten was in the abandoned
-faces and the eyes a slogan:
"Ignored we are
-powerlessly segregated
-and blindly imprisoned! "

The slogan lingered in the leper colony
-as it did in the leper island of Peru
-in faces and bodies…

That is what Forough filmed
-to become Forough

And Ernesto Guevara observed
-to become El Che

They could read the question
-a single simple question:
-"Where is justice? "

The "No Entry" sign landed
-in the eyes of minds
-of the poet and the revolutionary
-who cared
