No Greater King Poem by Kondwani Simwaba

No Greater King

No Greater King
At the night of the Passover he said; one of you will betray me, to this day my knees still tremble; because if I knew my would be killer he'd be dead before me you see, all the power within me I'd assemble. Questions linger in my head, what type of a king lays down his life for people that may never even accept him? It baffles me you see…
Dragged to his crucifixion; without even a fair trial,
Nothing even closer to a conviction; but he was still subjected to exile.
Before Arnold Schwarzenegger was cool as the terminator; Jesus Christ had already said I'll be back, people divided, you can already guess who their common denominator was; innocently tortured and he never even attempted an attack. It amazes me, you see…
Dragged to his crucifixion; without even a fair trial,
Nothing even closer to a conviction; but he was still subjected to exile.
On this auspicious day he did like a flower and arose; from the dead from whence he was subjected, how he escaped death, nobody knows; I swear history has never recorded any other king that ever resurrected.
This man is not your average King;
This man beat death and still forgave his oppressor;
This man ascended to the heavenly ring;
This man is Jesus Christ, the ultimate professor;
He is the reason we celebrate Easter and,
I am but a messenger, sent forth to deliver this message that he that receives it may be delivered; that if Jesus be the name stamped in his heart, then the letters C.H.R.I.S.T may save him and embrace his soul like an envelope to post him right where paradise shall be; so let he with ears heed these words, because no matter what you know they'll never be a greater King than Jesus.
