No Help Needed Poem by Ray Hansell

No Help Needed

I've always been a free thinker
Thinking for myself
I carry my brain with me
It's not sitting on a shelf

I don't need newscasters
To tell me what's going on
Years ago I learned to read
So, I'm not some moron

I don't need them to disect
What someone just said
I can figure it out for myself
Because I'm not brain dead

They have their own agenda
None of which is the truth
Their stories are always slanted
It's been that way since my youth

So, they can keep on trying to convince
Those who are unwise
But as far as it goes for me
I've already heard too many of their lies
