No Mistress Poem by Jack Ashenden

No Mistress

Rating: 4.8

Depressing my writing has become
In absence of the perfect one.
With heavy heart, a mistress now to seek
I mentally prepare for another painful week.
Seventeen years old and without a mistress-
Its quite absurd, love should be my business.
A mistress is the poet’s ultimate desire
I must find her soon, before I tire.
