No More Chasing. Poem by Brett White

No More Chasing.

No more chasing,
Self-abasing,
Dignity erasing

Words, deeds, or thoughts.
Break free of the misery,
Of every single memory.

Cling not to anyone,
But embrace the Sun,
Whose light just begun,

Illuminates all regrets,
A renewed Spirit Forgets-
Fears your loss begets.

I know not my yesteryears,
I shed no more tears,
For memories my heart steers

My sweet soul towards.
And within my words,
Are God's rewards.

So softly sing, heart of mine,
Of joys yet to find,
Arising through Soul to Mind.

There is no Love but from Above,
Scents from my bosom's stove.
Your broken 4-leaf'd clove; clung, dove.

So sing forever I shall do,
To every day, arisen, anew,
Sorrow shall no longer...
My heart skew.
