No Ordinary Dream Poem by Kelvin Rush

No Ordinary Dream

Rating: 5.0

I follow in search of some reason to live
I have no idea where I'm going
My mind is deceased I can't speak or forgive
My past is not something worth knowing

I hold on to the shoulders of the one in front
No face no pain can be seen
In relative terms I'm riddled with guilt
But this is no ordinary dream

I feed off the hunger with a vacant desire
Still dressed like a Japanese monk
I'm drawn to the light like a moth in the night
I've released all the shame that I've drunk

I embrace the silence no sound is required
No one has anything to say
The air is alive with a virtuous peace
This is the most beautiful day

The journey goes on for many miles
Who knows what lies ahead
All the turmoil and blame I've played out in my life
Has all been inside my head

I'm here at last the relief is immense
Never again will I question the light
I'm so blessed and so grateful for the life I've had
And for the courage to continue the fight
