No Scoreboard Needed Poem by James Darwin Smith II

No Scoreboard Needed

Coagulated thoughts upon weathered illusions
Delusions atop a correlated restitution
Doubts mixed into proclamations
And there you have a mess

I love you, I no longer do
A voice so redundant
One without any clue

That was the past
One in and out of my grasp
But now I learned so much
Surely without a doubt

Still romantically dreaming
Never one to grovel anymore
Too much pride
Fighting down the tears of yesteryears

I love me, I love you
A voice with confidence, so self-assuring
Inner views to an outward tomorrow’s gleaming

Free thoughts upon images of grace
A fusion of an emotional quest
One where I will never stop learning
And there you have it, a clean slate

If you do not know me
You never wanted to, so be it
So many twisting and straight roads ahead
Makes me smile with great resurgence

Some looked down
Up at time
Just look across
You will see me there
Only if you let me

Pristine views subtle journey
Come with or not
This soul shall always grow
Even beyond my last breath

Never the worst
Never the best
Just me, the student of life’s enduring test

Defiant to conventional redundancies
These thoughts are that for which will never be under control

There is so much to life
More than just ever letting go

Apprentice always in training
Going with the most sacred of flows

These tears are not just for anyone
Only to those who want more

What could be more?
Just want to feel the importance of being explored

What does that mean?

No one is keeping score
