No, Thank You Poem by Patrick Akhudu

No, Thank You

Such a trendy gift for me?
How so caring one can be!
I am humbled and flattered,
Yet my stand is unshattered.

What do I need a phone for?
I have never fancied it before.
A guitar is but a better gift;
She sets me on a happy drift.

Smartphones can do a lot,
But a novel with a nice plot
Would feed my fantasy;
Reading is my idiosyncrasy.

Cellphones are not my thing,
They come with deadly sting.
A bicycle is a better friend,
His escapades I can defend.

Give me a bouncy blue ball
That I will hit against a wall;
A ball to burn my calories,
Unlike social media stories.

I know that you meant well,
From your face I can tell.
I appreciate it: yes I really do,
But a smarty: no, thank you!
