No Title For Her Pain Poem by chris schwartz

No Title For Her Pain

Rating: 4.5

Her Door
Doesn't open
From the inside.
The tiny fingers
That once grasped
Her Rattle
Now Grasps tightly
To the Lock
That protects her
From the world
You taught her
To fear.
She listens from
The inside
A tiny shelter
She's found
To protect her
From the wind
A space you cannot
Enter
A place she's found
Safety within.
The only difference
Between him and her
Is that she will escape
Her four walls
While he,
Who decorated her room,
Will never escape its prison.
