Nocturnal Rainbows... Poem by Negus Iconel

These colourful strides gets soaked in nights delights
Signing up on hopes gets the clouds thick and it rains in sights
The young wants to get old quick, feels there is freedom and joy in their delights
Little do they know, that the old gets scared of the world's desire and it's frieghts

I make quick judgements, forgetting what I did in my dark yesterdays
I break you up, forge frontiers, making you feel no hope in your presence and in your todays
Your courage tears me apart. Makes me sad for I couldn't do all this and more in my days
I'm scared, worried, traumatized but thinks I'm wise, and will successfully bring you down from your plans and your ways

I've got a book in hand, learnt it tricks just to beat minds
Ways to make the poor, poorer. Ways to make you find gold, you'll be my gold mines
It's clear, I target the aged, the unlearned, the messed, those with heads unclear
I'll wallop you to your wealth, to be rich is nothing I say. Later you're not like me I've got the latest car, you're not my peer

I'm so smart, everything is false and bad when it's not yet my turn
But when I've got power, same things I do are gold and God sent
It's your monies that I'm interested, your pains and cries are not my concern
When my term is over and I want another, 'please will you help me put your vote on this paper, I've got you a present'.


Me, ' I feel disgusted because love broke me'
I can never heal because love hurt me
I want to be completely different now
Love is nothing and I don't have to wait for karma, I want it done now.

So in the nights when the sun hides and the moon arrives
When the clouds fight for a place in the skies but the cosmos denies
When leaders fail and our future blurs
When love crush and our heart melts
When hope dies and people return to their beds with pillows in tears
I see bright tomorrows, I see victories, I see colourful pictures.
I see rainbows without fears.....
