Noise Poem by Tessa Eichhorst

Noise

Drowning out my thoughts, leaving me insecure, the noise is too loud for my heart to hear. Puzzling feelings start to cloud, the noise in my head drowns them out. Others telling me what to say, the noise is an unbearable part of the day.
Pushing forward, pulling back. All this noise makes me want to crack. Static, white, loud, soft; I can't even hear myself cough. Too many opinions, choices unknown, this noise seems like a joke. Always determined, never alone; the noise has broken my heart so. Too many commitments, note enough time. The noise has taken this life of mine.
