Norwegians Vs Americans Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Norwegians Vs Americans

A quiet glance, a distant air,
They seem to keep a world to share.
No chatter on the crowded bus,
Just space for all, without a fuss.

It's not unkind, this gentle pause,
But respect for privacy's laws.
To let you be, and not intrude,
A thoughtful, silent attitude.

But offer help, a simple plea,
And warmth unfolds for you to see.
They'll stop and guide with willing hand,
A helpful spirit through the land.

For friends, they choose but a few,
Deep roots that grow, honest and true.
No shallow ties that quickly fade,
But bonds through shared adventures made.

On fields, in clubs, or tasks they do,
Connections bloom, sincere and new.
Once ice is broken, walls descend,
Loyal hearts, a lifelong friend.

Americans may speak with ease,
And gather friends beneath the trees.
But deep in Norway, quiet grace,
Builds friendships that time can't erase.
