Nostalgia Poem by WriA Poetry

Nostalgia

Rating: 5.0

Looking at an old photo
A random shot of my life
that I've found in my old phone
A simple picture
but a glance is enough
to take me back in time
The past unfolds right in front of my eyes
The image serves me as a door
To the world
of my past self
It reminds me of dreams
I used to loose my sleep for
It evokes long forgotten feelings
It brings back old hopes and wishes
Things I wanted
Thoughts I had
A replay has been pressed in my head

How many things I would do different
now when I have more answers and more courage
Now when I can finally see through
But that's not possible
I cannot change even a bit of the old true
I have come back here just to watch
Like a spectator behind a glass wall
I am looking at stories that never had their fancy ending
they ended before anything interesting took a part
It is like I did not finish writing
And now I am reading that unfinished book
craving for enexpected turn
but I end up unsatisfied

It is not that I'd like to change the present
No, I don't want those things anymore
I like to think that have moved on
I just wish things were diferrent back then
I'd love to remember a good end to that photo
I want to look at it and smile
and leave nostalgia
to fill up my heart
