Not An Easy Game Poem by James Tyler

Not An Easy Game

Not knowing which feelings
I’m feeling the best
Not knowing which person
I’d choose from the rest

I look and I ponder
Lord knows I’ve tried
But deciding this question
Is hurting my pride

Changing direction
At almost every twist
You’re both very special
And so hard to resist

Should I go with the outcast
Who knows me in and out
She knows how to turn me
Its all in her pout

Or should I turn to the rebel
Unsure of her place
I’m sure I could help her
With her past to erase

The beginning or middle
Of love with a friend
Or is it the truth
That comes with the end

Unsure of my step
Don’t know where to turn
The feelings I’m feeling
Inside me they burn

It hurts not to look
Yet it hurts all the same
Deciding which girl
Not an easy game
