Not Another Regret - Poem by Christopher Taber

Not Another Regret
You will not be another
I will not add you to all the others
I’m not taking the shit for this one
This ones all you…sorry hun
This ones all your fault

I tried so hard and sometimes on lonely nights I cried
But you hide like a kid afraid to go outside
What are you scared of?
Is it me?
Is it you?
Is it us?
Is it love?
I’m scared shitless but still willing to try
But me and regrets just don’t fly
So this one falls on you
I put forth the effort but you didn’t follow through
