Not Everything About Human Progress Poem by Francis Duggan

Not Everything About Human Progress

Not everything about human progress is a source for pride
Wildlife becoming rarer in Countries Worldwide
Due to human destruction of natural habitat and human induced climate change
Less animals and birds in the World forced to live in a smaller range
If we have a right to life other life forms should have too
And what we do to our Earth Mother to our own selves we do
Due to our greed for land and money wildlife of land and water becoming rare
This World is only ours to live in and with other creatures for to share
More life forms of land and water species added to the endangered list of extinction every day
And that humans must take the majority of the blame for this seems a sad thing to say
Of more environmentally conscious people the Human World is in need
But now as is always their sort are a rare breed
Human achievements through history have not been small
But on our environmental practices no pride for us at all.
