Not For Nothing Poem by Ailbhe Eighteen

Not For Nothing

Oh my soul
Shall you desire others?
Like this man's possession
and that woman's character?

Should you weep?
Should you bury yourself
Deepest in melancholy

You have borne enough sorrow
Should you break your neck and cut yourself?
Should you tear your garments
And stoop down to earth?

Enough oh my soul scrap that jealousy off
Remember thy price
You're priceless; worthy of a king's blood

Weep no more my soul
It's good to remember his love
The wind from the forest blew
The rain quenches and elevates the flowers in spring
Painting and sending a message for thee

Enough oh my soul
You're a beautiful one, conceived to be victorious.
