Not Like In Fairytales Poem by Yselle Lucas

Not Like In Fairytales

Rating: 5.0

Is there a once upon a time
If the royalties today commit crime
The prince would betray princess and be with witch
Then regret when his hair turn into bleach

The True love’s kiss which breaks the curse
Is now obtained by what’s inside the purse
Charming will promise to not hurt beauty
But lust devoured him, the promise then is empty

Love at first sight, ended up sweet
Love at first touch, ended up with grief
“I love you” was never said but felt
“I love you” was repeatedly said but if where in bed

Reunion comes with happy ever after
But there would always be chapters later
Hearts will be bound together
But aches will be forever

A cynical illusion of fairytales
Problem of the real world, it don’t care
Only a dream of a naïve child
The real world is truly wild

Since my childhood was completely filled with Barney and Disney movies, I can totally relate to this poem. It's a very honest poem, and honesty is always good, right? After all, the truth, no matter how bad it is, is always better. Good job! :)
