Not Long, A Good-Bye Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Not Long, A Good-Bye

Two years ago
You and I met
It wasn’t that pleasant
But nor do I regret
Later we became friends
And it shall last to the end
We sat on the road watching cars go by
Wasting the day
And wasting the time
Everyday since we have been close
We need a party with you as the host
So to my dear friend
I say my goodbye
because you are leaving
my heart starts to cry
You know how I feel
And how much you mean
Together forever
That’s what we said
nothing will stop that
so there's nothing to dread
I’ll miss you my friend
For I’ll see you no more
It’s like our friendship is over
As soon as you walk out that door
