Not One Person Here Now Poem by Francis Duggan

Fond memories of the old town in me remain
'Tis nice to be back in the old mall again
I last was in this place two decades ago
I'm a stranger here now not one person I know
They either have died or in life have moved on
And of the past only the memories from me have not gone
Not one face I know in the old mall today
Time brings about change as some are known to say
Not even one face that I knew from the past
Then few things as such ever do seem to last
But the mall itself to me does not seem strange
In the buildings and shops I can see little change
From the last time I was here two decades ago
Though not one person here now that I can claim to know
