Not So Broken - Poem by Matthew Petranovich

Look at me now,
I'm not so broken
anymore.
At one point,
my heart,
my body,
and mind were sore.
Maybe it was because
I was so poor.
Maybe it was because
I couldn't find love,
or maybe because I let myself
down,
falling from the clouds,
but now I'm rising,
like the sun above the town.
I'm doing what I like to,
making lots of money,
finding new friends
to stand up beside me.
Finding new hopes,
new dreams,
new goals,
it seems as though
my life is in an upward slope.
And no,
I'm not perfect,
never will be,
But now the old me,
is history.
No more being depressed,
no more being stressed,
And yes maybe I'm the best.
And even though I still haven't
found love,
I will one day,
You will see.
I'm going towards,
my hopes and dreams.
Yes I used to be broken,
my heart was torn apart,
I just wanted to end my life,
it was so dark,
but look at my now,
I can do this,
Even if I struggle,
I will survive this s***,
I glued myself together,
I can do it again.
Look at me now,
I'm not so broken
my friends.

And you can be too.
