Not So Funny Poem by Runita R Menezes

Not So Funny

He must have seen my double no triple chins,
And thus decided he could punish me for my sin,
He must have smelt my ever so fragrant feet,
And must have been horrified at them being so neat.

He must have been put off by my long yarns,
And I’m sure I heard a few muttered darns.
Unfruitfully I tried to explain my cause,
But he always passed judgements, as the master of laws.

Eventually something inside me began to flair,
I decided to put an end to it then and there.
I stopped trying to justify my actions
And my indifference got just the desired reactions.

So dear friends I say to you now,
That to no ones unwarranted judgements shall you bow,
For no one has the right to comment about anyone,
Be it serious or just to poke fun.

An honest friend would be kind in their dealings,
And would correct you without hurting your feelings
Hence, do not cease until you’ve found the Best
Someone who’ll accept you with double chins and the rest
